ive had my reel since the bills lost there first supper bowl back when.i have never hade any problems with it.caught a bunch of differant fish on it.good for bass,salmon,trout,northernpike and even used it to for carp fishing.the reel has outlasted 3 differant flyrods or more.couldnt of asked for a better reel.getting ready to hand it down to a friend so he can get into flyfishing.hope he has as much fun with it that i hade.hope he gets as many good years out of it as i have.who knows maybe hell do the same thing in years from now. have to make sure he has a good reel to start.

I bought my first reel over 20 years ago and it is still going strong.
I have over 10 reels now and won't buy any other reel. The drag system works excellant even when wet. Try that with a cork drag!

These reels are not the prettiest or lightest on the market, but I've had 4 of them for between 2 and 16 years and NONE of them have EVER screwed up, even when I have. They've hit coral, rocks, sand and more than a few driveways over the years and they just keep working. I clean them after saltwater trips and that's about it. For the money I just don't think you can get a better, more durable reel.

Have it several years now and its drag is great for saltwater sea Bass.
I fish it off my yak a lot too...
I just lay it in some fresh water when i get home give it a shake and rinse.going to have it for years more.....

Had mine for over 15 years without even a minor glitch. It'll slow-stop a 30lb salmon to exhaustion. Highly recommend this reel. Great value for the $

Great durable fly reel that is very smooth and puts the breaks on any large salmon or steelhead running wild. The exposed palming rim, which is commonly found nowadays, is a nice feature, when you want to vary the drag without adjustments to the drag setting. I have had mine for over 25 years and it's still going strong. You can pick up line in a hurry by hitting the reel with your free hand. It's almost like having a multiplier (3 to 1 ratio) reel. Fish on!
